Problem Note 57367: A SAS® 9.4 metadata user bulk load can take many hours to complete when the SAS® Metadata Server is clustered

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you import metadata users into a SAS 9.4 Metadata Server that is clustered, the process might take several hours to complete.

The problem occurs when the authorization cache on a particular slave node has already been populated from previous calls to that slave node. The population of the authorization cache occurs as a part of normal metadata server operation and, in general, provides performance improvements.

However, when you encounter this problem, the presence of entries in the authorization cache results in additional processing when the slave node attempts to process the metadata user bulk load updates. The metadata server log files do not log any messages or errors while the processing is taking place. The only symptom you experience is that the user bulk load program takes several hours to complete.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.

For more information about the user bulk load process, see this documentation on the User Import Macros that are available in SAS® software.
